This year, the parish of SS. Constantine and Helen, Westland MI were blessed to have not only our parish priest, Fr. Teodor Petrutiu, but also His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas, Fr. Charles Sarelis, Fr. James Stathakios, and Deacon Alex Radulescu participate in the services.
During the month of February, Fr. Teodor Petrutiu led a group of parishioners from our church and from the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Church in Livonia, MI on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Those at home followed their trip through daily photos and social media posts. After Wednesday Presanctified liturgy services during Lent, we gathered for pot-luck suppers as Fr. Teodor shared his beautiful photos of the trip, his knowledge of scripture and his lively storytelling – bringing the familiar story of our Lord Jesus' final days and His triumphant resurrection to vivid life. Father joked that he would be facing the screen as he spoke, so he wouldn't be able to see people sneak out the door. But nobody left!
That preparation made this year's Holy Week services especially meaningful and poignant for the SS Constantine and Helen Church community.
